Looking for Nanoha ViVid episode 1 with subs? EDIT (ep 2 now)

Thanks to all the awesome people posting comments and bringing info on the latest news surrounding the anime we’ve all dreamed of seeing.
While there’s currently no news of official simulcasts or streams to the western world, there are wonderful people who have taken the effort to make it possible for those of us with limited Japanese to enjoy the series. (Much like we do here already. ^_~)

The first word we got of subs was one released anonymously on Nyaa.
[anon] Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha Vivid – 01 [9543C486].mkv
Subs are pretty good though it’s not certain if they will continue after this first episode.
EDIT: They did continue! [anon] Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha Vivid – 02 [D7AF278A]. mkv

Some time after that, a pleasant surprise came about when FFFansubs officially released their subs for the first episode.
[FFF] Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha ViVid – 01 [12F992E2]
This is the one I would bet on in the long run to complete the series.
EDIT: FFFansubs had their ep 2 up first. Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha ViVid – 02

There’s a few other possibilities out there but these are just the ones I’m going to take a moment to mention. Feel free to share even more links and news in the comments.

Here’s a useful site for fansub and simulcast information: http://fansubdb.com/wiki/Spring_2015

I expect anon to drop it so it’s probably going to be just FFF.

  2. art248 says:

same here. FFF will prob finish it. even if not immediately but they will.

they hv good subs. i highly recommend them, plus they hv the extra benefit of having their own DDL servers. so do drop those folks some donation as the DDL server cost quite some.

  3. Time Diver says:

Hmmm. I watch both anon and FFF sub, the FFF sub has minor mistakes such as name spelling. However I am not really mind that since I am happy enough to see this series finally getting picked up by one of the sub group. My only other wish is to have it officially released as Blu-Ray boxset later on with English sub so I can neatly purchase and put it side by side with my other Blu-Ray Nanoha collection.

I watched the first 2 episodes and I got to say they were just amazing! I can definitely tell that they cut and moved some stuff around, like having Vivio spar with Nove before she got her device and while still a kid compared to doing it in adult mode on the manga. Wish we could have seen the flash back of Vivio whining to Otto and Deed to get them to stop calling her “Your Highness/Majesty” though, it would have been so funny and cute to see. XD

  5. Hanabira.Kage says:

FFF’s ViViD translator will be busy, and they’re expecting episode 3 to be up on 30th April…so it looks like we’re stuck with anon for a while.

  6. CrimsonDX says:

Anon is actually the better translator IMO.

  7. PrimeSonic says:

I’ve been watching both versions and all I will really say is that anon’s version will feel more familiar to those who’ve followed the manga for any stretch of time while FFFansubs will be easier to enter for newcomers to ViVid.

Case in point: “Hegemon” vs “High Queen”

  8. guy says:

That particular one actually really grates on me in general. While I’m not sure precisely what the story is with the original Japanese where Vivio and Olive get masculine translated titles, Einhart is specifically using the same title as Claus and it should be translated as gender-neutral or masculine.

  9. Fruit says:

Not to mention the couple of librarians 🙂

  10. Vivio says:

link for mp4 batch of Nanoha Vivid volume 1 – 5 anime subbed by anon. By the way got the latest Comp Ace magazine issue, as both Vivio and Einhart are currently making an appearance in Lyrical Nanoha Innocent S manga. If someone can find a scan of it…
