I miss the time when the manga subtext-shipped Vivio with Einhart.
Makes me wonder if the producers suddenly got some weird ideas about where this is supposed to go, 8-9 years after the series started, and decided to abandon that.

@Carthienes It’s no trouble, thanks for providing the exact issue it happened in.

@Fruit Apparently Ein/Vivio according to some is a thing confirmed by interviews. Although I guess the new girl is potential Ein shipping option.

Now that I notice, Einhart seems to have her own harem here with Vivio being a female lead👍

Well the first like time I saw Yumina and how she was fawning all over Ein, I thought to myself “Another challenger enters”. Although I also thought that her intentions in the end might turn out to be not nice.

The interview just might be old stuff before the new policy took effect. And more importantly, it might have been joking, tongue-in-cheek comment just picking fun at their Claus-Olivie background and so on.
(I don’t think they are so eager to actively push the yuri besides the subtext pandering, so I would put my money on it being joke.)

Prince Fate kissing Nanoha, damn when?

Curious that you would say that considering that I was recently nearly tared and feathered on a certain forum for suggesting not that Nanoha and Fate are not likely to be a couple but that there is no conclusive and incontrovertible evidence of it in the franchise content, that is not bunch of joke comics (Vivid Life) or fan comic anthologies.
Basically the only proof that gets raised here is some interview that the writer and voiceactress had at some point.
The rest is circumstantial and based on the fact that they live together and are raising a kid. In general their interaction is always chaste.

I would like if they would get off their hinting horse and simply state that they are married or something. But from what I gather that is not something that is done in Japan or something.

Einhart and Vivio’s relationship are more likely or easily shipped than Nanoha and Fate in my honest opinion. It is all boiled down to the their ancestral heritages from both Claus and Olivie’s relationship. However, I am up to the implication that Einhart is a nice substitute for male harem protagonist with serious luck with all those ladies there. XD

I am cheering you Einhart! Good luck!

The trouble is that apparently Olivia and Claus’s relationship was more brother sister thing… Okay I won’t start on that. Ein/Viv relationship is based on that + like one scene during training. For the rest they are friendly rivals.

They simply never get enough time to develop that into anything.

It definitely wasn’t, she was sad she can’t have his kids.

I guess that’s what I get for relying on wikis that use older information.

Now that I have read over the issue 55, it kind of can be argued both way. On one hand she did say that one of her regrets was that she can not give birth to children after saying she liked it in Shutra and would want to stay forever. That kind of implies that she knew that since she was infertile she would not be allowed to wed Claus. On the other hand she says that in a sentence where she basically states that she is useless for anything else (she can not give birth to new life, care for her loved ones without hands etc.) but be the key to the Cradle. So since she can not do anything else significant in life she is going to make sure her life has meaning by sacrificing it to stop the war. And she refers to Claus as someone who she considers her sibling since they were reaised together, when defending him before the Council. On the gripping hand, she was likely to say the same even had she had romantic thought of him because saying he is her sibling is simpler than trying to explain her confused emotions.

Unless you know some part of Vivid that goes into more detail.

It’s clear they were in love IMHO and that Claus would want to be in full relationships with her. The cradle was really the only thing that stopped that and Olivie regretted it happened (of course, Claus too).
The Jeremiah narration states that basically everybody around them wanted to see them together and sounds like Wilfried “shipped” them too.
