With all due apologies for the slow releases lately (see the next post) here’s a glimmer of hope that we’ll be back to action sooner than later.
Today is the debut of the first chapter of what is to be the definitive version of the story that started it all. Where before you had to piece together anime, movie, drama CDs, and AU manga to get every bit of detail, this final retelling aims to combine all of them into one singular cohesive narrative.
It’s a story almost ten years in the making. So at long last it’s time to present…

For this series, we want to ensure the highest quality we can manage.
Because of that, we are re-scanning everything to get rid of the scaling artifacts and we are reworking out leveling and cleaning workflow to ensure a consistent quality across all pages.
Chapter 1 will be re-released along side the chapter 2 release.
So be ready to update your personal archives.
EDIT 2: In case it wasn’t apparent, this project got pushed back and we lost contact with key people who were working on it. For now it is canceled so if any other group wants to pick it up, go right ahead.
We have all the tomes and can provide scans. So if any group was interested in doing this project but can’t get a hold of good scans, just get in touch and we’ll work something out.

pg 19, “the place saw in my dream last night?” is missing “I”, “I saw in my dream”.
pg 27 and 28 says “Well… I have a favor to ask…!” twice, exactly the same way. is that correct?

We were planning on releasing a v2 of chapter 1 down the line anyways.
This is just going to be another reason to do just that.

Hmm, particularly on the opening spread (02-03), there is noticeable moire pattern in the areas that are supposed to be uniform. Maybe you guys should try to use a different scaler (that’s what generally causes these things I think).
